Employers have a duty to ensure that the vehicles used in the workplace are operated in a safe manner.
There is a hierarchy of control for workplace transport safety, with segregation – the separation of vehicles and people - at the top. Where other control measures are not possible, Traffic Marshals are trained signallers who may be employed to help maintain the safe movement of traffic. Before commencing work, a Traffic Marshals requires appropriate training.
